How I feel when I am having Mulethi tea & writing these emails every morning is ineffable.
I LOVE IT.
I love writing about my observations about life (including people & things) that helps others. I've been writing for past 12 years. I've been writing DAILY for past 5 years now. It's one of my favorite parts of the day (beside feeding the street dogs at night).
One thing I tell my coaching clients all the time is that if you want to change your communication style, you have to start SEEING the world in a DIFFERENT way.
Put a boring man and a poet on terrace and make them watch the sky.
First man will say: "What's there? It's just sky. Where's my phone? I need to check outlook."
The poet will observe the birds, the clouds floating freely, the blueness of the sky, and the openness. He's going to use metaphors, similes & probably some VERY strong visual words.
But...
It's NOT just about using poetic words. It's about SEEING the sky differently.
Most people speak atrociously because they have a VERY boring way of looking at life. Everything for them is black & white. There's no point being reticent in life and hiding yourself & your feelings.
If you TRULY want to connect with people, you must be a LEADER.
And a leader is confident, transparent & trustworthy.
So when you start to see the world differently, your VIEW of the world changes.
When your VIEW of the world changes, your WORDS you use to describe things change as well.
Without changing your view of the world, you're as fresh as last week's bread.
STAY FRESH!
Upgrade your perception.
One brilliant way to do that is to dive into good literature.
Movies.
Books.
Good music.
Poetry.
At times, you can't make head or tail of good literature. And that's okay. Problem is that most people are busy watching Kapil Sharma and Robin Sharma ( have respect for both and I know Robin very well) instead of studying REAL stuff. They are not going DEEP.
When you put your feet wet in the water of GOOD STUFF, you will enjoy the swim soon.
If you want to CONVEY your points & express your ideas so CLEARLY that people promptly take action on what you say without rejection & resistance, start using BETTER words.
And how do you use better words? By having a better way if VIEWING the world.
